Luka, is it a big relief for you to score after such a long time?
Yeah, for sure. I mean, it would be for anybody. It´s been a lot of matches, but I could have scored last game against Slavia, but for me, my whole focus, especially during this national team break, was just to keep that intensity, keep that momentum and then just knowing that the chances will come. For me, it´s just being focused and then calm in front of the goal, and I guess the hard work paid off, but it´s just one game. It´s two goals. We have many more matches until the end of the league.
Eleven matches without scoring - is it hard for a player in his head?
Yeah, of course it is, but it´s just one of the things that football brings. It´s part of life. It´s one of the many challenges. It´s the pressure that we live with, but it´s a good pressure. It´s the pressure you kind of want, and it´s just something you have to fight with. I´d much rather have that than something worse. It´s extra motivation to prove myself every match, and then a match comes like this with two goals against a very good team. That proves to myself and prove to everybody else that we have the quality, and it´s not just luck. It´s hard work.
Tell me about the goals: the first one and the hit touch...
The first one was a bit of a counter, and I saw that Horsky wasn´t going to cross it right away, so I was just trying to play off the back shoulder of the center back and waiting for Fukala´s cross, and he played it perfectly. He gave me the perfect ball to just attack it, catch the defender off guard, and I was just trying to get the ball on goal. It didn´t need any power, came off the bar and went in right away. I wasn´t sure, but the ref told me after. And the second goal - I was just maybe a little lucky with a little bounce, but again, just being ready and keeping concentration within the 16-yard box and just finishing at the end.
And the second one was like a giant slalom...
Yeah, a bit like that. It felt like both really quick and like it took like a long time at the same time, but like I said, it was just being focused and trying to make up my mind right at the last moment. I was thinking maybe to pass it to Doumbia and then the ball just kind of broke to me, and I caught them off guard and, you know, one vs. one with the goalkeeper and just put in the bottom corner.
