Fortuna League, Round 28: FK Mladá Boleslav – FC Slovan Liberec 1:2

Slovan created the first chance of the match in the 5th minute. Potočný’s pass was converted by Koscelník, which went right on Šeda. At the end of the first 10 minutes, Bucha fired a long shot, but Nguyen got it in time. Six minutes later, Mešanovič, a Boleslavian, wandered through the Liberec defence, but he sent a shot just wide of the right post. Then he got another chance but the ball was tangled under his feet and the Liberec goalkeeper managed to grab the ball himself.

In the 26th minute, Potočný came in from the right and was face-to-face with Šeda. However, the Mladá Boleslav goalkeeper stopped him. At the game’s half-hour mark, Mešanovič beat Oscar, came inside and fired a hard shot that Nguyen's managed to get his fingertips on. Five minutes before the break, a pass was sent through the air to Mešanovič. He got his weight into the shot and fired it just high. Neither side managed to score before halftime, so both teams went to their dressing rooms with the scoreline the same as when the match started, 0-0.

Petr Mares, who came, saw and almost scored, jumped into the second half. At the beginning of the half, the Mladá Boleslav's midfielder flew towards the Liberec goal and just missed beyond the far post. Then referee Ardeleanu got excited and gave three yellow cards between the 50th and 52nd minutes. Finally, in the 67th minute, Malinský sent a cross from the right side and Roman Potočný made no mistake to make it 1-0 for the visitors.

It didn't take long for Mladá Boleslav to get a chance to level the scores. Six minutes later, Matějovský started a rush with Přikryl. He faked a pass and then fired a bullet that just spun wide of the left post. Slovan continued to push for another goal and almost doubled their lead in the 81st minute. Karafiát directed a corner kick to the near post, and Kačaraba got to it. However, he missed the goal from close proximity. At the other end, Přikryl’s header missed.

Mladá Boleslav had to open the game, which created some chances the other way. On one of the counterattacks, Potočný ran away from the entire defence and Šeda had to be quick on his feet to deflect the blast of Liberec away. In the 88th minute, Chorvat Musa entered the pitch as a substitute and immediately assisted on a goal when he got behind the Boleslav defence and passed to Malinský, who fired a shot through Šeda to gave Liberec the all-important insurance goal to make it 2-0. That turned out to be important, as in the 92nd minute, Vuklišević committed a foul in the area. On the ensuing penalty, Tomáš Přikryl sent Nguyen to the other side and cut the deficit to 2-1. But that was the last thing that happened in the match, as Slovan escaped Mladá Boleslav with a 2-1 win.
