You scored the 200th league appearance against Brno. You scored a goal and the team won. You could say it´s been the perfect match, right?
Yes, everything went as it should. I have to praise the boys. We played responsibly and I would say that we won perfectly deservedly. The goal and the jubilee are just cherries. The three points gained are very important.
What was it like for you to play in Brno again?
I played here again after a long time. I was happy to come back here. I started my career here and learned from the experienced guys. It is still a special match for me, as my home is 50 km from Brno.
What would you say to your goal? It seemed as if you were the quickest to react in that situation and scored.
First, the center flew over me. Maťo Koscelník won the duel behind me and headed. He already deserved to score the goal. Finishing is my job description. I need stay attentive. This is what I did and this time I was rewarded with a goal.
You didn´t celebrate the goal much. Was it out of respect for Zbrojovka?
Not even that. Rather, it was such a ´hustle and bustle´, and I no longer had the strength to run anywhere. (smiles) Otherwise I celebrate goals by default.
Was the gain of the bounced balls one of the key factors?
I must say yes. Zbrojovka played by passing twice, and then a long ball flew forward. The match was a lot about tackles and whoever gets the bounces has the upper hand. We have been winning them since the first half and in this respect Brno lost.
You also physically looked better than your opponent. Are you doing well in this regard, too?
Yes, we are well prepared. If I said no, the coach would definitely prepare some extra running for us. (laughs) Even though the pitch was soft and bad, we were able to keep running throughout the match. It was more complicated for me, because I´m one of the heavier players. Running also becomes a lot easier when you lead in a match than when it is the other way around.
Was the terrain in Brno worse than in the home game against Bohemians?
I was surprised, but it was worse than in Liberec. We had half a meter of snow at home and it was snowing during the match. The course was better anyway. In Brno, I was a little disappointed, because the weather is usually better than in the north.
The team performance was very successful. Do you feel that the team should be strengthened even more?
That´s not quite a question for me. Every team would like to strengthen and beome even better. We will try to play with what we have and the players must show that they got what it takes.
You have approached the European Cup places. The match on Baník awaits you on Wednesday. Do you feel that the season goes into its decisive phase?
I do not think so. We still have a lot of matches ahead of us. We are not even halfway yet. It´s definitely great that we´re within range of the upper places in the table. Every point will be important. On Wednesday, we will play against Baník, who have the same ambitions, and we will see who is better off.
Looking back on all two hundred matches, did you hope to accumulate so many?
When you start playing in the league, you don´t think about how many appearances you will have. I am very grateful for that. My career was like on a swing. At first it looked like I could make 500. Then various injuries came and it got stuck. I believe that I have returned now and I will add more matches. I´m currently enjoying the game. Especially since I´m healthy, that´s the most important thing.
