Even second leg against Fiorentina ended by lost of Slovan
After two losts, we needed to make at least one point to keep chances to qualification to next round alive. Beggining of the match was quite good, our defense worked very well. In 15th minute, Fiorentina had first chance – Iličič hit the post of Hladký´s goal. For Václav Hladký, it was second start in this season. In 22nd minute Bartl crossed to Folprecht and hit attempt Tatarusanu saved brilliantly. Igor Súkenník made unsuccesful sliding tackle and referee Stavrev decided to give Fiorentina a penalty kick. This opportunity without problems took Josip Iličič and opened the score. After few mistakes in passing Fiorentina had quick break and Nikola Kalinič doubled the lead of his team.
Our team needed a miracle, Markovič tried to start one, but his shot gone off the bar. Fiorentina had another chances, but Kalinič, Valera and Chiesa failed in final phases. Slovan tried to play and that was likeable, but none of the chances ended by goal. On the other side, in 73rd minute finally decided Sebastián Cristoforo with precise shot from big square. Rest of the match was without big chances, just Egon Vůch tied his luck form angle, but even him couldn´t make it this time.
Slovan still have theoretical chance to qualifying for the next round, but for this, they unconditional must beat Karabach in the next round, so come visit stadium U Nisy and support your team!
