Liberec - Slovan drew 0-0 with Prague´s Bohemians in their last match before the international break. Radoslav Kováč´s charges were unable to build on their good form in the league and must now prepare for their next match in Teplice.
Slovan eliminated from the cup in Brno
Brno/Liberec – Slovan Liberec’s MOL Cup campaign ended in disappointment as they were knocked out in the third round by second-division side Artis Brno. The visitors took an early lead through a powerful strike from Afolabi Soliu, but Brno hit back swiftly thanks to Dahman and Lutonský. Just before halftime, Otrísal was shown a red card for a foul on the Liberec goalkeeper, leaving the hosts down to ten men. Despite the numerical advantage, Slovan failed to impose themselves and were often second best after the break. Following a goalless extra time, the drama continued in the penalty shoot-out – where Artis Brno kept their cool and sent the top-flight side crashing out of the cup.
Slovan won 3:2 in Hradec, Jan Mikula had the last word
Hradec Králové/Liberec - Liberec managed to equalize twice and ultimately defeat Hradec Králové 3:2. Petrášek scored first for the home team with a header, Lukáš Mašek then equalized for Slovan, and Vlkanova scored with a volley in the 40th minute. In the second half, Ermin Mahmić equalized with a half-volley, and in the 89th minute, the experienced Jan Mikula completed the comeback by finishing off a low cross from Afolabi Soliu.
Slovan drew 1-1 with Slavia, Hodouš scored
Liberec - The Liberec footballers showed their skills on home ground against Slavia Prague. However, their solid performance was not enough for victory, and Slovan had to settle for a single point for a 1:1 draw. In the first half, Petr Hodouš put the blue and whites in the lead with a spectacular volley. However, Vasil Kušej scored in the 87th minute, and Liberec was unable to respond.
Slovan knocked out Ostrava, winning by 2-0 after a strong performance
Ostrava/Liberec – After the international break, Radoslav Kováč´s team went to Silesia to fight for league points against Baník. And they succeeded. The match was decided after just twenty minutes, when Slovan led 2-0 after goals from Mašek and Mahmić. Neither team scored again before the end of the match, and Liberec added three points to their league table.
Slovan drew 1-1 with Viktoria Plzeň, Gabriel scored
Liberec - Slovan players took to their home turf against Viktoria Plzeň in the 7th round of the Chance League. In the first half, the visitors took the lead after a goal by Tomáš Ladra. Koubek had no chance against the low shot to the left post. In the second half, Liberec remained active and managed to reduce the deficit in the 66th minute. Šimon Gabriel scored with a header after a corner kick. At the end of the match, Lukáš Letenay could have turned the game around, but his header hit the crossbar. Slovan had to settle for a single point against a passive Viktoria.
Slovan defeated Brandýs nad Labem 6:0 and advances to the third round of the cup
Liberec/Brandýs nad Labem – Slovan kicked off their Czech Cup campaign in the second round. Their opponents were FK Brandýs nad Labem, a team from the fourth highest division. Liberec´s players managed to pull ahead by three goals in the first half. Lukáš Letenay, Ermin Mahmić, and Aziz Kayondo all scored. The goal feast continued in the second half, with Filip Špatenka, Lukáš Masopust, and Šimon Gabriel gradually making their mark. The Liberec footballers thus won 6-0 without any major problems and advanced to the next round of the MOL Cup.
Slovan lost 0:1 in Zlín
Zlín/Liberec - After two home games, Radoslav Kováč´s charges faced another away trip, this time to Zlín. Liberec were the better team in the first half, but it was the home side who celebrated thanks to Kalabiška´s penalty. In the second half, the Liberec players pushed for an equalizer, but unfortunately it did not come, and they left Zlín´s Letná stadium without any points.
Slovan lost 0:2 to Sparta Prague while playing with a man down
Liberec - Slovan lost 0:2 to Sparta Prague at their home stadium. In the first half, Pavel Kadeřábek scored with his left foot. Shortly afterwards, in the 32nd minute, Aziz Kayondo received a red card, and in the second half, Veljko Birmančević scored, putting the ball into the right corner of the net. Slovan thus lost to Sparta by two goals after an unlucky run. The only bright spot for the home team Slovan was the almost sold-out U Nisy stadium, with only a few hundred seats remaining empty.
Slovan defeated Dukla Prague 2:0 with goals from Juliš and Gabriel
Liberec - The Liberec footballers managed to beat Dukla Prague 2-0. In the first half, Petr Juliš scored from mid-range, aided by a mistake by goalkeeper Matrevics. In the second half, Šimon Gabriel added to the lead with a header. Vojtěch Stránský also found the net, but after a long review, the goal was disallowed for offside. Slovan was thus able to celebrate three points.
