The member of the Slovak national team started playing in the top Czech league in 2009 when he joined Viktoria Pilsen. Over the five years in Western Bohemia, he amassed 44 goals in 124 appearances, including 12 goals in 25 European Cup matches. The team won two league titles and one domestic cup title with Bakoš on the roster. So far, he has appeared in 13 games with Slovak national team.

Marek Bakoš joins FC Slovan in the season restart
At Monday´s press conference, the team revealed a new acquisition.
Athletic director Jan Nezmar and team president Zbyněk Štiller introduced a new reinforcement at the press conference, 31-year-old Slovak striker Marek Bakoš. The native of Nová Baňa, Slovakia, signed a deal that runs through the end of 2015-16 season.
