Tijani had the first hint of chance in the match. He read the opponent's pass, didn’t hesitate and fired, just catching a piece of the crossbar. Falcinelli had a fantastic opportunity to score 6 minutes into the match but he fired just over the crossbar. Less than a minute later, the Serbian club threatened again with a pass from Tijani on the left side. Rodić returned the ball to the area from and El Fardou Ben successfully finished with a header. Shortly after the goal, Red Star rushed forward again and Nikolić got a huge chance, but fortunately, Nguyen directed his shot away.
It was another pass from the left side that threatened Liberec. After an accurate pass, Ivanić fired from a very sharp angle and was caught by Nguyen. After a busy introduction, we also got to a bigger combination and started to look a bit better. However, in the 22nd minute, the home side penetrated the left side in front of the goal. After a long pass, Ivanić received the ball just before the touchline, didn't hesitate and sent the ball into the area, where El Fardou Ben was waiting for the shot.
In the following minutes, the game was relatively even, with both teams threatening. The biggest of them came from Belgrade when Katai hit the bar from a long distance. After a free-kick by Sadílka, the home team was unable to clear the ball and the players in blue won it again. Hromada, Sadílek and Matoušek combined nicely with Jan Matoušek finishing beautifully behind goalkeeper Borjana. In the end, Ivanić had a fantastic opportunity to increase the home lead, but he fired high from a dangerous spot.
At the beginning of the second half, Katai escaped to Mar and Hromad in the middle of the field and then pushed the ball to El Fardou. Mikula managed to disarm him but bounced the ball directly to Milan Gajić, who had already arrived at the open goal. After a corner kick, Belgrade launched a swift counterattack. Katai advanced to the goal and tried to pass to an oncoming teammate. Thanks to Matoušek and Nguyen's save, the chance was eliminated. Shortly afterwards, Sadílek committed a foul very close to the penalty area. Mara came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle, but he lifted the ball over Borjan, it was a little too high and hit the bar.
It was Aleksandar Katai who flew through the middle of the pitch, went around the defence and scored the fourth goal after a dot shot. Less than three minutes passed and the home team managed to score another goal again. After a corner kick to the near post, Diego Falcinella's header bounced off the ground directly into the upper right corner. At the end of the pitch, Gavrić made his way in front, dealt with Chaluš and fired, but Nguyen was ready and handled it. After the final substitutions, nothing changed and Slovan took a 5-1 loss to Belgrade.
