The season opener in Liberec brought in rivals from Mladá Boleslav, a team with which the games are always as interesting as they come. Both halves were a shining example of that.

The visitors were a bit more dangerous early on and capitalized about thirty minutes in. An errant header by Ondřej Švejdík went right to Lukáš Magera who took advantage of the mistake and fired the ball past goalkeeper Tomáš Koubek.

Right after that goal, FC Slovan were able to get to the penalty area of Mladá Boleslav and Lukáš Bartošák was brought down illegally. The referee called a penalty kick which was executed perfectly by Josef Šural and the score was, all of a sudden, tied again.

Early in the second half, a free kick by Milan Kerbr was stopped by Mladá Boleslav players, but it bounced to Bartošák who was able to pass the ball over to Marek Bakoš and the natural goal-scorer capitalized from a very good position to make it 2-1.

Not long after that, the visitors were able to bounce back as Jiří Skalák took advantage of a mistake by the centre-back duo Švejdík-Lukáš Hovorka and then fired the ball through Koubek who wasn´t on his A-game during this one apparently.

The score didn´t stay equal for long as in 69th minute, the ball bounced up into the air inside the Mladá Boleslav penalty area and landed at feet of Lukáš Bartošák who just sent a bomb past goalie Róbert Veselovský to make it 3-2 in favor of the home squad.

With about ten minutes left to play, FC Slovan was able to score an insurance goal when Veselovský made a little mistake and Ondřej Švejdík was able to kick the ball in from the goal line. 4-2 would be the final score and FC Slovan would claim the first place in standings after the opening round.
