Commentary
The Cup Final started better for FC Slovan as the team managed to created a very good chance just 13 minutes in following a well-played corner kick that was capped off by a header by Dzon Delarge that hit the crossbar.
However, it would be FK Jablonec who scored first. Late in the first half, a corner kick by Jan Kopic got redirected to Martin Doležal who was able to head the ball past the goalkeeper and in.
The second half saw a good start for Liberec as well and it was Delarge again. Josef Šural found him inside the box, but the Congolese striker was unable to hit the net. Michal Breznaník got to another big chance later, but the ball went just wide of the target.
With just four minutes left, Martin Sus sent out a perfect long pass to Marek Bakoš, goalie Michal Špit went out to challenge him, but the experienced Slovak striker kept his cool and beat him to tie the score at one.
With no overtime to be played, penalty shootout followed and FC Slovan would prove better at that. David Pavelka along with Breznaník and Šural would all beat the Jablonec goalie, while Lukáš Hroššo only let in one goal and so despite a less-than-impressive league campaign, FC Slovan will still be able to compete in European cup competitions as they are the Czech Cup winners for 2014-15.
