Fortuna League, Round 25: Dynamo České Budějovice – Slovan Liberec 0:1

Coach Hoftych´s charges awaited their second away match in short succession. Slovan had failed to score on Saturday and left Teplice defeated. In České Budějovice, however, they got a taste and thanks to a goal by Alexander Baluta in the 50th minute, Slovan won 1-0 in South Bohemia.

In the third minute, Havel headed after a corner kick right next to the left post. The South Bohemians have been a more active team since the beginning of the match. Their activity resulted in a shot from Šulc from the 12th minute, which Nguyen did not keep and Brandner got to the finish line in a great position. However, the Liberec goalkeeper corrected his hesitation and made the save. Two minutes later, Havelka fired from outside the area to the near-side post of the Liberec shrine. After 21 minutes, Mara got through on the right and was very close to scoring for the home side, but didn't get the shot away. However, the joy of our players was quickly stopped by the raised flag of the assistant referee.

Liberec managed to stem the tide, but there were no chances to see. This was also due to frequent rules violations from both teams, which stifled the pace of the match. In the 37th minute, Lukáš Havel appeared completely alone in the crease and the Liberec goalkeeper was lucky that his head was aimed exactly at the places where he stood. In the set time of the first half, Slovan got another chance but Matěj Hybš fired wide. We did not see a goal during the first 45 minutes.

Slovan flew into the second half like a hurricane. First, Drobny got a hand on a shot headed under the crossbar by Alexander Baluta, and then Jan Kuchta’s header hit the post. Baluta's next shot in the 49th minute missed the net. But a minute later, persistence paid off. Tomáš Malinský pulled the ball into the area, loaded and fired. His shot was again stopped by Jaroslav Drobný. However, Alexander Baluta got to the rebound and easily deposited the ball into the yawning cage to make it 1-0. České Budějovice also responded in the 58th minute. But Nguyen saw the Čavoš's shot from a medium distance and caught it without any problems.

Kuchta could have put his team up another goal 64 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. However, in the face of Drobný, experience manifested itself and the home goalkeeper caught our striker. Six minutes later, the Baluta fired from the standard situation above the crossbar. In the 74th minute, our defence was very lucky on a Tomáš Sivok header, which hit the bottom of the crossbar, landed on the goal line and bounced back away from the goal. The home side pushed, but Liberec were well organized and did not let black-and-whites get many more chances.

Schranz had a chance to take the lead on 86 minutes into the game. He reached for the shot outside the area but fired high. České Budějovice was clueless against Slovan's firm defence and did not create any clear chance until the end of the match. Liberec took all three points from the south of Bohemia for a 1-0 win.
