Commentary

The first big chance of the match came in the fifth minute. Slovan actively entered the opening half and after a quick break called on Zeman to convert a pass from Kuchta. He stood alone in front of the goal but could not direct the ball on target. Soon Koscelník decided to shoot, but Trmal was attentive and neutralized the shot from outside the area after a nice play, with which the right back got rid of the defender.

At the other end, Sadílek made an attempt in the 10th minute but his good shot rolled off the three bars. After the initial frantic pace, the game slowed down significantly in the following moments. Pavel Dvořák got to a dangerous header but directed it high.

Kuchta unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. Just before the end of the first half-hour of the game, the penalty for momentary inattention suddenly came, and Tomáš Zajíc remained uncovered in front of the goal and flawlessly converted a pass from the right side to put the visitors ahead. By the end of the half, Alibekov and Zeman were still firing, but the former just sent the ball into the stands and the second right next to the right post, Slovan evened.

After a pass from Zeman, Kuchta was fouled in the penalty area and Kamso Mara converted the penalty kick uncompromisingly with a suspension during the start. Michal Kadlec was shown the red card in the setting of the first half after fouling Jan Kuchta. That reduced Slovácko to 10 players for the duration of the match.

The siege of Slovan with the man advantage resulted in a big chance for Baluta a few minutes after the start of the second half. However, the skilled midfielder misfired. In the coming minutes, Liberec tried in vain to break through the defensive wall of the team from Uherské Hradiště. At the other end, Nguyen had to be attentive to the standard situation ordered from the left after a Kacharaba foul. He finally pulled the ball into his arms. With 77 minutes played, Malinský nearly put the visitors back into the lead as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. Captain Vlastimil Daníček was able to direct the ball to the corner.

Slovácko defended their territory carefully for a long time, but they couldn’t hold out forever. In the 90th minute, Martin Koscelník got to a rebound and fired a blistering shot that burned everything that stood in its way. Three minutes later, Michal Beran added an insurance marker, which determined the result with the final goal. With that thrilling conclusion, Slovan defeated Slovácko 3-1.
