Commentary
In the 21th league match of the season Slovan Liberec hosted Zbrojovka Brno, who are struggling in the relegation battle, while Slovan are unbeaten in the last three matches and currently placed on the fourth position which means qualifying to next campaign of Europa League.
The first good chance had Oscar, but his volley-shot after corner kick missed the goal. The visitors preferred counter attacks and within one of them youngster Růsek shot from the edge of the box, but his deflected shot did not cause any problem for our goalkeeper Václav Hladký. In 20th minute Roman Potočný won the free-kick from good position, but his shot was pushed away by goalkeeper Melichárek.
Slovan was much better in the possession and deservedly scored the opening goal. In 26th minute Matěj Pulkrab confimed his superb form from the rebound of Breite's shot pushed away by Melichárek. Fifteen minutes later Matěj Pulkrab added hid second. Oscar crossed from the right side, Potočný has prolonged the pass to Matěj Pulkrab who found the net.
The second half has started in similar way in comparison to the first one. Slovan had some good chances, in the biggest one Melichárek made a great save against Coufal's shot from 10 meters and Pulkrab failed to score from the rebound. Also visitors had one good chance, but Růsek's header has not been strong enough and Hladký easily catched the ball. On the opposite side Roman Potočný had a giant chance to score the third goal after great pass from Bosančič but he missed the target. Slovan produced much better performance than Zbrojovka.
It was Zdeněk Folprecht who had next good scoring opportunity, but Melichárek produced great save and as visitors did not have any dangerous shot in the last 20 minutes, Slovan added another three points to the league table with win 2:0 against Zbrojovka Brno.
