Commentary
The first 30 minutes of the game were dominated by the home team which was seeking the goal that would put them in front. Plzeń got really close when their captain Brabec hit the right post with a stunning shot from 20 m off the goal. Only when Filip Kaša fouled Sadílek in a bit clumsy way and consequently got sent off the pitch after his second yellow card, the pressure onto the Slovan goal eased.
Slovan made use of their gained leverage shortly after the beginning of the second half. Imad Rondić finished in top scorer's fashion when a ball came into the box and thus, finally, scored his first league goal for Slovan which wasn't a set piece.
After 56 minutes Koscielník had the chance of doubling the lead but the defender lost his nerves alone in front of the goalie and shot wide off the post.
The adrenaline levels of all Slovan-supporters shot high after 63 minutes when the home team hit the post for a second time. The same effect but to a much higher degree caused the decisive goal by Jakub Pešek. The man for the magic moments completed a counter attack after a Plzen corner kick with a stunning shot from 60(!!!) metres.
That was the final action in a match that showed the great competitiveness of our team against a quality squad like Viktoria, whom we beat already the second time in this season.
The next mission will be the cup game against the Prague side Viktoria Žižkov.
