After a humiliating defeat in Znojmo, Slovan coaches opted for several changes in the lineup. Hrosso was chosen as a starting goalie, Pokorny got a nod in defense alongside Rajnoch and Frydek was moved up front alongside Budnik.

Yet the most important addition to Liberec lineup proved to be the return of Dzon Delarge. The strong player was a thorn in Teplice´s defensive setup all game long and got some early chances in the first half. He fired just wide 20 minutes into the first half and also created space for his teammates.

One such action led to Pavelka who attempted a low shot from the edge of the box and beat the goalie to open the goal sheet. Budnik squandered a good chance few minutes later, firing straight at the goalie and Liberec eventually paid the price as Teplice equalized with their only major attack of the first half when Litsingi poked in from close range after Hrosso spilled a previous shot.

Yet Slovan was the more active team on the pitch also after the break and regained the lead in 56th minute when Frydek´s cross was headed into the net by Delarge. The game calmed down in the following minutes and Slovan was able to coast to victory in controlled fashion. Pavelka fired wide and Rajnoch headed just past the post in the last 10 minutes. Teplice had a couple of late chances in the dying minutes, yet Hrosso was in place to save them and safeguard the precious victory.
