Commentary
In the heavy rain that descended on the Andrův stadium, the first interesting opportunity did not wait too long. In the fourth minute, a sharp cross flew into our penalty area and was deflected just wide of the bar by Tiéhi. The referee didn't notice it at first and pointed to the kick-off. Only a fair-play gesture by the Ivorian midfielder, when he admitted that he was the last one to play, meant a corner kick for the home side Sigma. Moments later, Koscelník's header on the other end was wide of the target.
Thereafter, the game was chanceless until the 17th minute when young Slaměna, on the pitch for about a minute at the time, pressed the Slovan defence and forced Gebre Selassie into a mistake. He then played the ball to Mojmír Chytil, who fired a shot past Mikula, and the attempt nestled precisely against the bar beyond the helpless Vliegen. Olomouc went 1-0 up. In the 22nd minute, Antonín Růsek scored in the penalty area. The ball flew just over the crossbar of the Liberec goal. The next ten minutes were played at a slower pace without any significant chances on either side. This passage was ended by a nice quick combination of the home team and a subsequent finish over the goal by the scorer of the first goal, Chytil.
After a long time, Slovan also took the floor. Ľubomír Tupta took the ball into the penalty area and passed it to Frýdek. Unfortunately, the young midfielder missed the ball in the pressure. Koscelník, closing the space at the back post, was then far from the ball. In the 42nd minute Havelka got the ball behind the penalty area. However, the ball had a lot of spin and the midfielder shot over. In stoppage time of the first half, Gebre Selassie simply let the ball drop. Chytil's shot fortunately didn't have enough punch and Vliegen caught it in his gloves. Olomouc went into the locker room with a 1-0 lead.
The start of the second half was also better for the home team. In the 55th minute Zifcak got in front of Vliegen after a hack. But our goalkeeper saved the Olomouc player. After an hour of play, Zmrzlý took a shot from behind the whitewash. The Belgian goalkeeper also dealt with this attempt. Two minutes later Rabušic received a pass to the small area. Unfortunately, Slovan's top scorer missed the ball, which rolled between his legs. In the 65th minute a cloudburst accompanied by hail came. The main referee was forced to stop the match. After a pause of about ten minutes, the players returned to the hailstorm-filled pitch and the game could resume. As time did not stop, the next chance came in the 79th minute. Ondřej Umrzlý received a precise pass behind the defence and shot from the edge of the box to the left post. But the great Vliegen caught his attempt. Then the new man on the pitch, Jusuf Hilál, also showed his skills and tested home goalkeeper Maciek with a shot from distance. In the 89th minute, Slovan finally managed to split the net behind Macík. However, the finishing Tupta was offside at the time of Matoušek's pass and Júsuf's goal was not valid.
Thirteen minutes of the game were played due to a long interruption. In the 94th minute, Júsuf dropped a pass behind him and Stoch could have equalised in a great position. But he only hit the home goalkeeper. Slovan rushed for an equaliser in the end, but Olomouc were solid defensively and didn't allow our players to do much. In the 13th minute of the setup, goalkeeper Macík pulled off the save when he saved Then the home goalkeeper pulled the ball out of the air after a corner kick, and that was the last thing that happened in the match. Slovan fell 0:1 to Haná and on Saturday, 30 April, they will play at the U Nisa stadium to make up for the one-goal loss.
