Commentary
The game started slowly and the home side only managed to get two scoring chances late in the first half. Kevin Luckassen found space inside the penalty area and fired a pretty good shot, but goalie Dušan Melichárek made a great stop to keep the score tied.
A little later on, Josef Šural could give Slovan the lead following a well-executed corner kick, but his header hit the crossbar and stayed out.
In the second half, Šural did get the goal, but it wouldn´t count as FC Slovan was offside. Just a minute later, Brno forward Josef Čtvrtníček hit Liberec back Lukáš Pokorný for which he was awarded a crucial red card.
After that, Slovan really started putting pressure on. First, Luckassen headed the ball just wide from up close, then Dzon Delarge got stopped by falling Melichárek with time running out. Liberec would, however, find the winning goal when the ball got deflected by Marek Bakoš past Melichárek and in after a cross by Luckassen which would give the home side the 1-0 victory.
