Commentary
The action-packed first half started out quickly with chances on both sides, but it was the home team who capitalized first. Dzon Delarge received a great pass from Martin Frýdek and then pulled off remarkable individual effort to get past the defense and score.
However, just five minutes later, Sparta and national team goal-scorer David Lafata found the back of the net with a great shot following a corner kick to tie things up at one apiece.
Great football could be seen in second half also and again, FC Slovan was the first to beat the opposing goalkeeper. This time, centre back Lukáš Pokorný was able to beat Lafata in a one-on-one battle following a corner kick and headed the ball in to give Liberec a 2-1 lead.
Both teams kept on playing offensive in the rest of the match, but naturally, Sparta got much closer to scoring many times. Lukáš Hroššo was able to keep the ball out of the goal and his team could celebrate a great win over defending champions.
