Commentary
Slovan appeared for the first time in front of the goal after five minutes, when Júsuf headed a Koscelník center, but, unfortunately, far off the goal. AlthoughSlovan was the slightly more active team at the beginning of the match, neither side developed any more dangerous chances. After a fairly active introduction, the pace of the game slowed down quite a bit, it was played mainly between the boxes. The Hradec Králové players attacked well, which made us have trouble setting up attacks. We could see a clear goal chance in the 32nd minute. Júsuf sent the ball from the left side and Havelka was only centimeters short to reach the ball at Fendrich's goal. In the 38th minute, Frýdek excellently timed the pass to the run on Ľubomír Tupta, who then successfully passed the Hradec Králové goalkeeper.
However, our lead could have ended rather quickly, with a great chance of the guests from the end of the half. Vašulín tried to shoot from the right side of the penalty area. The ball got deflected from Chaluš and bounced to a completely free Urm. Fortunately, the visiting team missed this clear chance. The guests entered the second half-time more actively. Vašulín had a nice chance with his header but goalkeeper Knobloch was attentive enough to kick it away. Apart from that, neither was creating any clear chances at the the beginning of the second half. Later in the game Slovan found back the way upfront and started to work out some opportunities. One of them came after a standard situation, when Mikula fired bouncing ball into the defender, from whom the ball then bounced towards Frýdek. The young midfielder tried to finish technically, but aimed too high. The end of the match was quite fragmented by a number of illegal interventions. Our team did not rush into the attack, but at the same time defended the offensive efforts of Hradec Králové well. We survived the biggest in the 91st minute. Stoch also entered the match, playing for the first time since October due to injury. He could have also increased the score to 2:0 at the end of the match, but his shot from inside the penalty area ran over the crossbar. Fortunately, this negligence didn't have any negative consequences as shortly after, the game was over and Slovan secured another home win.
