Commentary

After a lukewarm start, Libor Kozák got the first chance eight minutes into his Liberec debut, but he only sputtered the ball into goalkeeper Ondřej Kočí, who was waiting for it. The first 15 minutes of the match featured squandered chances and was full of one-on-one battles, but the ball was mostly controlled by the home side, who dictated the pace of play.

In the 17th minute, Oscar sent a nice pass to defend the opponent, but Mikula did not manage to keep the ball in the course and Příbram kicked off from their own goal. In the 20th minute, the home side were awarded a penalty through Matěj Hybš, who made no mistake and put Slovan ahead.

Just three minutes later, they had a chance to double their lead from a header by Oršula, but Kočí was in good position to make the save. However, Jakub Pesek was able to make the score 2-0 after 29 minutes, following a nice exchange of passes on the right that the visitors were unable to deal with.

In the 35th minute, play was stopped as Filip Oršula was in need of medical treatment, and he eventually left the pitch. After two minutes of playing a man short, however, he returned to the game, meaning that Slovan were not forced to use a substitution. Kozák used his height to his advantage in the 42nd minute, and after a centre from Oršula on the right side almost overcame Kočí, but the Přibram keeper got his head on it. Just two minutes later, however, a beautiful lob from Oscar produced a chance for Pešek. That pulled the keeper out of position, and when the ball came back to Oscar, he needed only to hit the target with an accurate shot from a distance to give Liberec a three-goal lead.

Pribram's first chance came in the 51st minute when Antonín Fantiš tried to surprise Slovan goalkeeper Filip Nguyen, who wasn’t fooled and re-directed the shot to the corner. After two substitutions, Příbram finally started to control the ball for the first time in the game but didn’t create any good chances. And then on a nice arc from an Oscar kick, Libor Kozák was in the right place at the right time, and he sailed the ball past a helpless Kočí.

In the 65th minute, Ondřej Karafiát almost gave Slovan a five-goal lead, but he put the ball straight on the Příbram goal. As time ticked away, Liberec controlled the lead and did not give Příbram a chance to do anything.

Finally, the referee signalled the end of the match, giving Slovan the perfect start to the spring half of the season, and sending most of the 3299 spectators in attendance home happy.
