HET League, Round 19: FC Slovan Liberec vs. MFK Karviná 2:2

In the second consecutive home match Slovan played against Karviná. Visitors won all three last matches without any conceded goal and arrived to Nothern Bohemia with very good confidence. Slovan had to play without injured central back Karafiát so one of several players loaned from Sparta, Daniel Köstl, made his debut, not only for Slovan but even in top tier of Czech football as well.

Another youngster Matěj Pulkrab had the first good chance to open the scoresheet, but after great cross from Coufal he did not beat the goalkeeper Le Giang. Vladimír Coufal had next opportunity of home team, but Le Giang was successful against Slovan's captain as well and defenders blocked Pulkrab's rebound. Slovan had more possession in the first half but Karviná went to the lead. After good co-operation by Kalabiška and Weber it was Tomáš Wágner, who scored the first goal with finish deflected by Coufal so Slovan were 1:0 down in the halftime. Slovan equalised at 54th minute. Potočný's cross from the corner was prolonged by Köstl close to the far post where Matěj Pulkrab easily reached his third goal of the season, all of them have been scored in the second halves.

Two minutes later Karviná scored again. Tomáš Weber has finished his good individual effort to the bottom left corner and moved Karviná ahead. Twelve minutes to go the visitors could added the third goal, but Štepanovský's header missed the empty net after the counter-attack of four attacking players against only two opponents. Slovan survived this great opponent's opportunity and five minutes later equalised the game for the second time. Karviná's centre back Dreksa too hesitated with possession before Le Giang, Wanderley Da Silva got the ball for Slovan and Matěj Pulkrab added his second goal in the match.

As the scoresheet has not been changed anymore so Liberec took one point for draw 2:2 versus Karviná and hold the fourth place in HET liga with eleven games to go.
